Welcome and Bienvenue to École Avalon School

Principal's Message

Dear École Avalon School Community,

At École Avalon, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom—it’s about fostering meaningful relationships and building a supportive community where every student can thrive. Our dedicated staff is committed to nurturing each student's potential, encouraging their growth, and celebrating their achievements.

This year, our theme is “Limitless Potential.” We embrace this concept wholeheartedly, encouraging students to dream big and pursue their passions without boundaries. Whether it's exploring new academic frontiers, engaging in creative endeavors, or developing lifelong skills, we are here to guide and support every step of the way.

Our school thrives on strong partnerships with students, parents, and the broader community. By working together, we create an environment where every individual feels valued and empowered. We invite you to join us in making this year a remarkable journey of discovery and success.

Welcome to École Avalon—where together, we reach beyond limits!

Warm regards,

Geoff Sader, Principal, École Avalon School

Open House

Hello potential new families! Please join us for our open house on February 12, 2025 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

There will be a Gifted and Talented Tour on January 28, 2025 from 3:30 - 4:30 pm for families interested in our program.

2024-25 ENROLMENT UPDATE - Academic Enrichment

For the 2024 - 2025 school year, Avalon School is full in planned classes in Grade 9 in the French immersion program AND Grades 7 to 9 in the regular program. We will no longer be accepting students in Grade 9 in the French immersion program. For the regular program, we will now only accept resident students in Grades 7 to 9 whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have newly moved into the school’s attendance area. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.

If you are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.

CURRENT DIVISION STUDENTS PRE-ENROL

You will need to pre-enrol on SchoolZone to tell us the school you’d like your child to attend next year. Find important dates and deadlines and learn more about pre-enrolment, which opens at 8 a.m. on February 3.

The Academic Enrichment program will not be offered to new Grade 7 students at Avalon School in the 2025–26 school year. First, there is low demand to support continuation of the program.  Second, Avalon has also been identified as an overflow school for Riverbend School and needs to accommodate additional students next year.

I want to assure families of current Grade 7 Academic Enrichment students that your child will continue to be accommodated in the program for Grades 8 and 9 while we phase the program out.
