REGULAR PROGRAMS

École Avalon School has a very special status in southwest Edmonton. Since September of 1981 it has been offering the French Immersion program for students who have been taking Immersion French since Grade 1. French as a Second Language is offered to all students in Grades 7, 8 and 9 in the Regular English Program.

All programs establish high expectations for students, and Avalon students consistently achieve Provincial Achievement Test results above District and Provincial levels. In academic core subjects of Language Arts, Science, Mathematics and Social Studies, Avalon offers more time than Alberta Education's minimum requirements. The school also offers superb programs in Art, Instrumental Music, Construction, Foods and Nutrition, Drama, Design Fundamentals, Active Living/Sports Performance, and Environmental Outdoor Education.
